Violet Manly, 67, passed away March 15, 2013, at the Crowley County Nursing Center. She was born on November 18, 1945 in Lamar, Colorado to John & Iris Manly.
Violet was the 13th child out of 18. She was a resident of Ordway for 15 years. She will be greatly missed by all.
Violet is survived by her special friend, Tom Martinez; children, James Manly, Rochelle (Ron) Peil, and Junior (Wendy) McDowell; sisters, Wanda Stanford, Myrtle Barhhill, Marilyn (Ronnie) Bowker, Brenda Leftwich, and Lillie Gurule; grandchildren, Randy, Jacob, Kimberly, Joshua, Shadoe, Alan, Abbie, Trey, Cade, and Madison; six great-grandchildren also survive. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Orlia, Harvey, Harley, John, Jr., Billy, Fred, and Ted; sisters, Evelyn, Annabelle, Ella Jane, Irete, and Venus.
In lieu of flowers may be made to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice & Palliative Care, 1207 Pueblo Blvd. Way, Pueblo, CO, 81005 direct or through funeral home.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Viar of the Redeeming Love Church in Lamar officiating.
