Virgil Herald Wells

Virgil Herald Wells, 76, passed away on August 30, 2019 at his Ordway home. He was born on March 17, 1943 in Scott City, Kansas to Malvin O. & Edith M. (Wren) Wells. He married Anetta Joy Horn on April 18, 1992 in Aurora, Colorado.

He served in Vietnam and was a retired Sergeant from the U.S. Army. In his younger years he was a Bronc & Bull Rider. He was a horse rancher and liked to ride then often. His real passion was training horses. He loved his family and spending time with them and his granddaughter. He was very proud of his family. He will be missed greatly by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Joy of the Ordway home; daughter, Salena (Craig) LaChapelle of Oceanside, CA; step-son, Francis Christie of Sugar City, CO; sister, Ruth Riedl of Scott City, KS; brother, Darrell (Deena) Wells of Ft. Mohave, AZ; his pride and joy, his granddaughter, Katelyn LaChapelle. He was preceded in death by his parents, niece, Pearl Sue Riedl and brother-in-law, Dean Riedl.

A memorial service will be on Monday, September, 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ordway V.F.W Post #336 with Pastor Jeb Brown of the River of Life Fellowship officiating.
