Virginia G. Tague

November 1, 1937 — March 30, 2011

Virginia G. Tague, 73, of La Junta went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 1, 1937 in Lanora, KS to Verbon & Lena (Thompson) Waggoner.
Virginia was an inspiration to many that knew her. She enjoyed going to and having yard sales with her beloved husband, Bill, of 44 years. She also wrote books for the young and old and shared her love for the homeless by portraying herself as “The Bag Lady.” Her love of life was giving back to the community with her annual “Happy Birthday Jesus” celebration and donating all the proceeds to charity. She touched so many hearts with her warm embrace and always socializing with everyone she met. Her joy was being able to go to Cowboy Church every week and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Bill of the La Junta home; children, Tim (Michelle) Tague of Hays, KS; Tracey Simpson of La Junta; and Travis (Rita) Tague of Kansas City, KS; step-children, DeEtta (Tim) Paige of AK; LaVerne (Vicky) Tague; Leda Ann (LaVerne) Grahn; and Frank (Gina) Tague all of Lamar; and brother, Royce (Evie) Waggoner of Colorado Springs; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral service will be held Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Valley Community Church in Rocky Ford with Gail Allen of the Cowboy Church officiating. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Peacock Memorial Chapel.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
