Walter Ray Wilson, Jr.

Walter Ray Wilson, Jr., 67, passed away on June 5, 2022, at his Olney Springs home. He was born on September 14, 1954, in National City, California to Walter Ray, Sr. & Welcome Opal (Vlach) Wilson.

He attended schools in Ordway, La Junta and Pueblo.

Walter loved the outdoors. Over time he enjoyed back packing, hunting, fishing, water skiing and scuba diving. He enjoyed growing flowers and gardens. He worked hard at anything that he did. He loved spending time with family and friends and was always ready to have some fun.

Walter was a building contractor for many years. He moved to Cape Fair, MO and opened a family business Triple S Marine, selling and services boats and various other types of outdoor equipment. He returned to Colorado 11 years ago to continue in construction work.

He is survived by his wife, Valorie Allen of the Onley Springs home; son, Cody (Nikki) Wilson of Kodak, TN; daughter, Cammi Lynn Gensil of Lampasas, TX; grandson, Gabe Wilson of Orlando, FL; granddaughters, Katie Rose Wilson of Peachtree, GA; Tannah Gensil McMurray of Springfield, MO; Darcey Gensil of Lampasas, TX; stepsister, Corrine Hatlen of Denver; ex-wife, Janet Wilson of Lometa, TX; numerous friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara.

As per Walt’s request cremation had taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be at a later date.
