Wilbur Eugene Love

Wilbur Eugene Love, 81, passed away on May 9, 2019 at his Las Animas home. He was born on March 5, 1938 in La Junta to Chester Lee & Ida Jane (Merrill) Love.

Wilbur was known for helping anyone in need. He had a youth center in Las Animas that he started as an outreach because of his faith in Jesus. He loved the Lord and talking to others about his faith. Wilbur started the business Wisdom of the Ages, which is located in Westcliffe, Colorado. He was a member of the Wetmore Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Love of Westcliffe, CO; children, Charlotte (Perry) Unruh of Dillon, CO; Kevin Eugene Love of Westcliffe, CO; Dana (Dayna) Love of Springfield, OH; Joanna (Ken) Jones of Westcliffe, CO; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Freda (Donald) Howe of Denver; Mariann (Harry) Shriver of Pueblo; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin children, Terry & Carey Love; seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Brian Withrow of the Wetmore Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be prior from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. also at the chapel.
