William E. Thatcher, Sr.

William "Bill" Thatcher, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully at his Swink home surrounded by his wife, sons and close family friends, Dave & Deb Mora, on Aug. 31, 2012. He was born to George W. & Anna (Wilson) Thatcher on Sept. 19, 1936 at his Swink home; Bill took his first breath in the kitchen and his last breath a short 12 steps away on his father's birthday. He married to Barbara Schneider on May 10, 1959 in La Junta.

Bill loved to play BINGO, watching the Denver Broncos and fishing. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara of the Swink home; sons, Bill Thatcher, Jr. of Lamar, Bob Thatcher of Rocky Ford; nephew, Danny (Ruby) Weaver of California, and other nieces and nephews survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna Thatcher, son, Danny Thatcher, sisters, Opal Cromwell, Betty Jean Goldsberry, Etta Weaver, and Georgia Franklin.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arkansas Valley Hospice Assoc., P.O. Box 408, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
