Wilma Mae Resel

Wilma Mae Resel, 89, passed away March 2, 2014, at Arkansas Valley Nursing Care Center in La Junta, Colorado. Wilma was born December 1, 1924 to Hubert and Carrie Icke in Shelby County, Missouri.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Leo Resel, of 40 years. Wilma is survived by her sisters in-law, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and by John (Debbie) Canaday of La Junta, Colorado.
 
Wilma was raised in Missouri and moved to La Junta in 1942 with the family. She graduated from La Junta High School in 1944. Wilma married Leo Resel in 1954 and moved to Denver, Colorado where they lived for thirty-six years. Wilma and Leo then moved back to La Junta in 1990.
 
Wilma worked as a clerk at Kipper's grocery store and also at Woolsworth in La Junta, Colorado.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery with Reverend Jon Brandt of the La Junta Tabernacle officiating.
