Yozelle G. Arensdorf

Yozelle Glenise (Holland) Arensdorf passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2014, at the age of 94.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, in 2002, her parents, Emmett and Mary Holland, sister, Rosemary, an infant son, James, and three grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Barbara and John (deceased) Presnall, Columbus, KS, Steve and Ann Arensdorf, Hays, KS, Janette and Lawrence (deceased) Barber, Parkes, N.S.W., Australia, Mark and Sarah Mallot (deceased) Arensdorf, Flagler, CO, Sue and Dale Shoemaker, Buena Vista, CO, Tom and Karen Arensdorf, Flagler, CO, Pat and Bruce Bode, Greeley, CO, Judi and William (deceased) Cole, La Junta, CO, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and a brother, Robert and Jackie Holland of Kansas.


Yozelle was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She taught school for ten years while living in Kansas. After moving to La Junta in 1971, she was a bookkeeper for J C Penney for 13 years. She had a deep faith in God and was devoted to the Catholic Church. Yozelle was very active and loved to travel, fish, hunt and camp. For five years she served as president of the Ark Valley Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She always felt privileged to have seen so much of our wonderful world. She enjoyed life always and loved generously.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Matthew Wertin officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Lyon National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
